Röttger Ganslandt (born December 26, 1772 in Lübeck ; † April 11, 1834 there ) was a councilor from Lübeck .
Life
The merchant Ganslandt was elected in 1815 as the first member of the Reformed community in the Lübeck council, which until then had been exclusively Lutheran . He had been a member of the municipal council since 1813 during the French period in Lübeck . He made a special contribution to the promotion of Lübeck's music industry and from 1832 until his death he led the city's lovers' concerts as the successor to Johann Wilhelm Cornelius von Königslöw . He was a major in the Lübeck Civil Guard .
Ganslandt had married Johanna Wilhelmina Croll (* January 7, 1781 - February 14, 1842) on January 19, 1800, with whom he had 5 children. Johanna Wilhelmina is the sister of Thomas Mann's great-grandmother .
His sister Elisabeth Louise Ganslandt (1778–1841) was Emanuel Geibel's mother . His son Wilhelm Ganslandt also became councilor of the city, while his son Conrad Ganslandt , as a merchant, became a member of Lübeck's citizenship in 1848.
