Rövnəq İbrahim oğlu Abdullayev (born April 3, 1965 in Naxçıvan , Azerbaijani SSR ) is the President of the Azerbaijani state energy company SOCAR and President of the Azerbaijani Football Association .

career

Abdullayev studied civil engineering at Lomonosov University in Moscow. After graduating, he first worked for the Nef Dashlari oil and gas production of the Caspian Sea Oil & Gas Production Association . After completing senior technical management roles there, he was appointed director of the Heydar Aliyev Refinery in 2003.

Since December 2005 he has been President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic .

Abdullayev is married and has two children.
