Røssvatnet ( Sami : Reevhtse ) is Norway's second largest inland lake. It is located in the municipalities of Hattfjelldal and Hemnes in Fylke Nordland .
The amount of water has been regulated since 1957. The Øvre Røssåga kraftverk uses the height difference between Røssvatnet and Stormyrbassenget made to generate electricity. Thus the Røssvatnet belongs to the catchment area of the Røssåga . Water is fed to Røssvatnet from the Bleikvatnet higher up .
There have been settlements on Røssvatnet since the Stone Age.
