The Rübezahl Schokoladen GmbH in Dettingen unter Teck is one of the world's largest manufacturer of chocolate figures. The company's founder, Josef Cersovsky, came from the Giant Mountains and named his company Rübezahl after the mountain spirit . The company is still managed today by the Cersovsky family. The company produces over 100 million Santa Claus and Easter bunny figurines every year , 40% of the goods are exported to more than 50 countries. Much of the production is sold under private label. Rübezahl Schokoladen GmbH independently offers its products under the Friedel, Gubor and Sun Rice brands.
history
The company was founded in 1949 by Josef Cersovsky in Plochingen . In 1953 the company moved to Stuttgart-Plieningen and in 1967 to Dettingen unter Teck. In 1989 the company Koch from Balingen , active in the confectionery segment, was taken over.
In 2008 Claus and Oliver Cersovsky GbR acquired the trademark rights to Gubor as well as the associated recipes and part of the machinery. Claus Cersovsky and his brother Oliver Cersovsky own the majority of the shares in Rübezahl Schokoladen GmbH .
