Rüdiger Metsch (born December 7, 1965 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German ice hockey player .

Career

The defender Rüdiger Metsch began his career in the 1986/87 season with the regional league team Herford EG , with whom he became runner-up in the regional league West and just missed promotion to the Oberliga Nord. In the summer of 1987 he first moved to the top division ERC Ingolstadt . Metsch returned to his hometown during the 1987/88 season and played for SC Riessersee in the 2nd Bundesliga South . Metsch played a total of 86 times for Riessersee in the 2nd Bundesliga before moving to the upper division EHC Straubing in 1989 .

Metsch initially relegated to the regional league with the EHC in 1990 and managed to get promoted again two years later with his team. After two finals against TSV Adendorf , the Straubinger team secured the German regional league championship. When Straubing had to relegate from the Oberliga Süd in 1997, Metsch ended his playing career.
