Rüdiger Postier

Rüdiger Postier (* 1944 in Komotau ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Administrative Court . From 2009 to 2012 he was President of the Constitutional Court of Brandenburg .

Career

Postier studied law and political science in Berlin . After passing the Second State Examination in Law, he joined the judicial service of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1973 . Here he was appointed judge at the Düsseldorf Administrative Court. In August 1980 he was appointed judge at the Münster Higher Administrative Court . From September 1990, Postier worked for two years as the presiding judge at the former Higher Administrative Court in Frankfurt (Oder) , then at the Ministry of Justice of the State of Brandenburg .

On January 8, 1998, Postier was finally appointed judge at the Federal Administrative Court, where he was assigned to the 8th Revision Senate responsible for local law and the right to regulate property issues. At the end of February 28, 2009, he retired.

On January 21, 2009, the Landtag of Brandenburg elected Postier President of the Constitutional Court of Brandenburg . With effect from May 9, 2012, he resigned from this office at his own request.
