Rudiger Rogge

Rüdiger Rogge (born October 31, 1936 in Düsseldorf ) was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 1985 until he retired in 2001 .

Rüdiger Rogge attended the State Görres-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf from 1947 to 1956, where he passed the final examination in February 1956. He studied law at the University of Bonn. After completing his legal training, Rogge joined the judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , where he was appointed regional judge in 1968 . After a secondment as a research assistant to the Federal Court of Justice, he worked as the presiding judge at the Düsseldorf Regional Court and as a judge at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court before he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice in 1985.

During the entire time he was a member of the Federal Court of Justice, Rogge was a member of the 10th Civil Senate , since 1993 as chairman of the Senate. In this role, he was involved in important decisions on patent law and public procurement law. He was co-editor and co-author of the commentary on the patent law founded by Georg Benkard and a commentary on European patent law, which is now in its second edition.
