The roller skating and ice skating club Heilbronn from 1934 ( REV Heilbronn for short ) is a sports club from Heilbronn , Baden-Württemberg , which today mainly offers the sports of figure skating , roller hockey and figure skating . In earlier years, the club also had an ice hockey department , which was spun off to the Heilbronner EC in 1986 , as well as a department for ice stock sport .

history

The REV Heilbronn was founded as an ice skating and roller skating club Heilbronn in 1934. Five years later they moved into the club's own roller skating rink, which was partially destroyed by bombing during the Second World War . After the rebuilding of the club's premises, it was renamed the Heilbronn roller skating and ice skating club . Due to the international success of athletes from Heilbronn, the REV club grounds became a state performance center in 1971appointed, which made it possible for the club management to build a new covered roller sports facility. The first European figure skating championships were held in the newly built stadium in 1977. In 1980, the first ice hockey team in Heilbronn was founded within the club's ice skating department, and in the following years it made it to the top ice hockey league , but finally had to be spun off to the Heilbronn EC in 1986 due to the resulting financial burden .

The roller skating department of the REV Heilbronn has held its competitions since 1934 in the club's own roller skating stadium, which was completely roofed over in 1971 and now offers space for 450 spectators. The ice skating department was initially at home on the Trappensee and then moved to the ice rink on Europaplatz. Today the REV ice skating competitions take place in the Kolbenschmidt Arena , which was built in 2002 on the foundations of the old ice hockey hall.
