RHEINA (abbreviation for Rhein ische N achrichten a gentur ) was a French news agency that was founded in Baden-Baden in August 1945 . It delivered news to the newspapers that appeared in the zone of occupation just a few days after the establishment of the French military government . The head of the military company was Captain Henri Schwob . Initially, Alsatians were mainly employed as translators to translate the news transmitted directly from Paris by the French news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP). After hectographing the news , it was sent two to three times a week by post or courier to the German media in the French occupation zone. They were obliged to use the messages delivered.
