The wrestling club Lübenheen e. V. is a sports club from Lübheen in the Griesen area / Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . Its first wrestling team started in the 1st Wrestling League in 2017 .
Club structure
RV Lübenheen currently has 100 members (as of September 2014). The board consists of the 1st chairman Bert Compas, the 2nd chairman Joachim Schwenck, secretary Robert Schwenck and the treasurer Manfred Raschke.
history
The RV Lübenheen was founded in 1968 by the Hungarian wrestler Csaba Matrahazi, who had moved to Lübenheen. At that time, the wrestling department still belonged to the company sports association "Unity" Lübenheen. The first successes were soon achieved and the wrestling department became the official youth center for competitive sports in the GDR. Starting in 1976, they had their own training and competition facility in a former restaurant, and Helmut Stahl was a full-time trainer. After the political turnaround in Germany, financial support was severely cut off for the wrestlers in Lübenheen. In 1991, the wrestlers from Lübenheen merged with the newly founded "Concordia" sports club. The junior training was resumed and the men's team started between 1991 and 1993 as a fighting community together with the Wandsbeker Athletenclub from Hamburg. Since 1994, the men's team has fought independently again in the state and regional leagues of the German Wrestling Federation.
In 1997, the wrestling department broke away from the “Concordia” sports club in Lübenheen and founded the wrestling club Lübenheen e. V. in order to better bundle one's own interests and to be able to organize sports work more effectively.
Sporting successes
With the 1st place in the Regionalliga Mitteldeutschland 2012, the RV Lübenheen succeeded in promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . Since then, the club has started in the North season. In the 2014 season the wrestlers from Lübheen were 1st and thus received the championship title of the 2nd Bundesliga North.
