Raúl Cóccaro

Raúl Cóccaro (* 20th century ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .

Career

Cóccaro was active in the javelin throwing discipline . At the South American Championships in Santiago in 1943 , he won the silver medal in this competition with a width of 55.52 meters behind the Chilean Otto Wenzel . In 1945, at the South American Championships, he reached 57.08 meters, exactly the distance that his competitor needed to win the title around two years earlier. This time Cóccaro was South American champion ahead of Efraín Santibáñez from Chile. At the unofficial South American Championships in 1950, he again took second place. He also took part with the Uruguayan team in the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires .
