Raul Gadea

Raúl Gadea (born February 12, 1937 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a Uruguayan film critic, essayist and cultural journalist.

Gadea worked for the Marcha newspaper from 1967 to 1973 and for the weekly La Democracia from 1980 to 1985 . He also worked for graffiti . He was also a co-founder of the Cuadernos de Cine Club , published from 1962 to 1966, and of Propuesta, published from 1982 to 1983 . In the years 1985 to 1992, according to other sources until 1991, he was a member of the board of directors of SODRE . For his essay Modernización e identidad en el Mersorsur , published in 1999 , he received the National Essay Prize of the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in 1998 .
