Rabindra Dharmaraj

Rabindra Dharmaraj (born May 19, 1946 in Sivakasi , † February 11, 1981 in Bombay ) was an Indian film director.

Life

Dharmaraj began as a journalist in the Vietnam War on the American side and a news anchor on the radio. In 1971 he went to Bombay and joined the Pentecostal Church ( Pentecostal Church ) at. He made commentary for the Films Division's documentary productions and assisted Fali Bilimoria , Shyam Benegal, and others. In California he completed a course in film and video production and then worked in Bombay as a commercial filmmaker for the agencies Lintas and Hindustan Thompson. During this time he also made a few short documentaries.

In 1980 he made his only feature film, Chakra , for which he was awarded the Golden Leopard and the Ecumenical Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival . Dharmaraj died before the film was released.
