Claudius Dornier

Claudius Dornier Jr. (* December 10, 1914 in Friedrichshafen ; †  April 30, 1986 in Munich ) was the first son of the aircraft designer Claude Dornier and followed his father from 1962 to 1980 as head of the Dornier-Werke company . Even after the Dornier works were taken over by Daimler-Benz , he remained a shareholder of over 20% and led his own aircraft project with the Dornier Seastar .

Dornier jr. had already joined his father's company during the Second World War. After the war, the Dornier Do 25 aircraft was built under his direction in Spain . He was also instrumental in developing the Dornier Delta , a car that the Zündapp company built under the name Janus . He made a significant contribution to the development of the Dornier Skyservant and Do 228 aircraft .
