Rachel Howard (born November 30, 1977 in Wellington ) is a former New Zealand soccer player and today's brand manager at Adidas .

Career

Howard grew up in the northern New Zealand city of Napier . After studying in Auckland at the University of Auckland , she worked as a product manager for the German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas . In 2004 she received an offer to work at the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach . She was there for the development of training and competition clothing of the English Premier League Sports Teams Chelsea , Liverpool and Newcastle United in charge. After retiring in 2009, she worked in various positions at Adidas, initially for 6 years in Shanghai and since July 2016 in Hong Kong .

Club career

The goalkeeper played for the Napier suburban club Taradale AFC, the Auckland-based Three Kings AFC, for the Te Atatu Peninsula club Te Atatu AFC and Takapuna AFC. When she switched to Germany in 2004, she joined the German second division TSV Crailsheim , with whom she was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2006. After a short stint at Post SV Nürnberg in summer 2009 , she ended her active career in October 2009.

International

With the New Zealand national team she took part in the 2007 World Cup. New Zealand, however, retired early after three defeats in the preliminary round. Between 1998 and 2008 she made 14 international appearances for Football Fern's.
