Rachel Elizabeth Unitt (born May 5, 1982 in Walsall ) is an English football player . The defender is under contract with Birmingham City LFC and plays for the English national team .

Unitt began her career with Wolves Women before making her debut for Everton in the FA Women's Premier League in the 2001/02 season . Between 2002 and 2004 Unitt played for Fulham LFC , with whom she won the triple of championship, cup and league cup in 2003 . In 2004 Unitt returned to Everton and was able to win the cup competition again in 2008. In the summer of 2005, she played briefly for the New Jersey Wildcats team and won the championship of the North American W-League . In December 2005, she briefly trained with Malmö FF, but turned down a contract offer from the Swedish club. After returning to the [Everton LFC], Unitt was named England Footballer of the Year in 2006. In the free time before the new 2011 WSL season, Unitt played for [Leeds City Vixens] in the Premier League Cup. At the end of the 2011 season, she submitted a transfer request to the club and Unitt joined after negotiations in February 2012 [Birmingham City LFC].

On August 16, 2000 Unitt made his debut in a game against France in the English national team. She took part in the European Championships in 2005 and 2009 and the 2007 World Cup. At the 2011 World Cup , they also took part. She was in the starting line-up in all four World Cup games and played full time, but was eliminated with England in the quarter-finals against France on penalties. On March 31, 2012, she completed her 100th international match.

For Team GB , which participated for Great Britain in the Olympic Games in London and in which predominantly English players were, it was not taken into account. She is the only current England national player with at least 100 internationals who only played for England.
