The internet broadcaster Swiss Internet Radio was founded on August 2nd, 2002 under the name RadioCrazy Classical & Jazz in Berlin . The broadcasting company specializes in the preservation of legendary and rare sound recordings ( shellac records ). Originally, RadioCrazy had a full program channel in addition to the specialty programs , which was moderated in Dortmund and operated from Berlin. Due to the falling audience figures for the full program offer , but the increasing number of listeners on the special interest channel Radio Crazy Jazz , the full program was abandoned in autumn 2005.

After GEMA and GVL increased their fees for radio stations that broadcast their programs on the Internet, RadioCrazy Classical & Jazz decided to broadcast from Switzerland from now on. Here, on August 24, 2004, the broadcaster laid the foundation stone for the Swiss Internet Radio Association , which today as a user association represents the interests of webcasters in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein .

After Radio Crazy Jazz was established in Switzerland, three other specialty programs followed in 2006: Radio Crazy Classical (January 1), Radio Crazy Opera and Radio Crazy Modern Jazz (September 23).

With the co- founding of the Public Domain Project in January 2009 and the start of broadcasting on December 11, 2009, the channels RadioCrazy Classical were renamed Public Domain Classical and RadioCrazy Jazz in Public Domain Jazz .

Public domain radio is a service provided by RadioCrazy Classical & Jazz. According to SHOUTcast , Public Domain Jazz is at number 267, RadioCrazy Opera at number 639, RadioCrazy Modern Jazz at number 1433 and Public Domain Classical at number 1617 of the international Internet radio stations recorded by SHOUTcast.
