RadioMentale

RadioMentale was founded in 1992 by Eric Pajot (* 1966 in Bourgogne ) and Jean-Yves Leloup (* 1968 in Paris ). The artist duo is considered to be one of the pioneers and inventors of the so-called Cinémix , a sound reinterpretation of films.

Eric Pajot and Jean-Yves Leloup began their joint careers in 1992 with their own radio show, which played experimental music, musique concrète , ambient and electronic music . Over a period of several years the radio show was broadcast weekly on Radio FG , Couleur 3 and Shibuya FM . RadioMentale also organized techno and rave parties in Paris.

From the mid-1990s, RadioMentale was also active in the field of contemporary art . In cooperation with video artists, authors, designers and film directors, sound works and film music for exhibition situations were created. Since then, RadioMentale's installations and performances have been presented at the Palais de Tokyo , Center Georges Pompidou , Cité de la musique , Fondation Cartier , documenta X and Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean . In addition, worldwide in various clubs and at music and film festivals.

RadioMentale has been known as a pioneer of the cinémix since 2000 . RadioMentale accompanies classic silent films , but also classics of experimental sound films . The sound works usually consist of versatile audio sources and are collages of sound experiments, soundtracks, ambient, experimental and electronic music, natural sounds, fragments of interviews and human voice.
