Radio Enno is a private open channel that produces a radio program for Nordhausen and the surrounding area . The range analysis from the end of 2012 shows that 41 percent of radio listeners (5 percent more than the average of all Thuringian citizen broadcasters) who know and can receive the program listen to it regularly. The listeners tend to include working and well-educated middle-aged people and, increasingly, senior citizens with a higher level of education.

Sponsoring association

The sponsoring association, which fulfills a public service mandate for the state media authority , includes: a. Cultural and educational institutions, social clubs, media and private individuals. Sebastian Gerecke is the chairman of the sponsoring association.

According to the articles of association, the non-profit association should provide the infrastructure for operating an open channel for its own economic purposes and "make it available to users through open and non-discriminatory access ...". It should offer individuals, social groups, organizations and institutions the opportunity under professional guidance Produce and distribute broadcasts live or pre-produced in one of the two studios. The legal basis is the Thuringian Broadcasting Act (TRG, especially "Citizens Broadcasting " in Section 5) and the statutes on the sponsorship and operation of open channels in Thuringia. The use of the infrastructure is free for citizens and the program is free of advertising. Sponsoring is allowed, however.

Enno went into operation in 2000 under the name Offener Kanal Nordhausen . In the first year, 150 people registered as active users and produced almost 4,000 hours of broadcast music, information and small talk . Since then, there have also been live broadcasts that are produced outside of the studios, for example at the Nordhausen Rolandsfest with a show stage.

In 2012, 40,000 euros were invested in the renovation of the radio studios and the purchase of digital technology, with a total of 122,000 euros in funding from the State Media Authority for 2012.

On January 1, 2016, the Nordhausen Open Channel was renamed Radio Enno.

program

The station is open to any interested citizen who registers as a user after an introductory discussion. With a mandatory "broadcast registration", the person responsible undertakes to only send contributions that are free from third-party copyrights. The broadcaster pays the GEMA fees. The choice of music is free. The contributions follow a weekly broadcasting schedule that corresponds in its way to a classic program radio. This includes accompanying programs as well as special programs on specific topics.

The open channel can be received via the Nordhausen / Hesseröder Berg transmitter on VHF 100.40 MHz with 0.1 kW ERP . The program is also fed into the local cable network in Nordhausen ( Garthoff , VKD ) and Sondershausen ( Primacom , VKD). The program is distributed on the Internet at 128  kbps via fra.radiostream.de .
