Radio OP is a free project radio organized under private law at the Oberpullendorf grammar school in Burgenland . Since 2009 it has had its own broadcasting license from Komm Austria for the frequency 98.8 MHz.

history

According to its own information, the station's roots lie in the “Pannonian classes” of the grammar school with around 700 students, in which Croatian / Hungarian are taught as compulsory subjects. In order to strengthen these ethnic groups , multilingual programs were broadcast within the framework of a cooperation with the association and free radio MORA based in Großwarasdorf , which is itself a subtenant on Antenne 4 . The broadcasts had to be terminated due to a change in ownership of the main operator. This was followed by an application for their own broadcasting license with Komm Austria.

program

The program is designed by the editorial staff of MORA (multilingual open radio - an association based in Großwarasdorf / Veliki Borištof, which advocates the establishment of a full 24-hour radio program in the languages of Burgenland) and the "youth editorial office A4 active". The broadcaster's two programming principles are “multilingual, free and open”, as well as being local. All languages taught at the grammar school are taken into account, including the majority language as the »lingua franca«. The aim is to have a music-word proportion of around 75:25. In addition, "transparency for all strata of the population" should be achieved by z. For example, non-German-language content "can also be transported using the majority language." MORA editors oversee a local newsroom that produces news once a day. In addition to the club MORA is an additional partner ZAMG for the supply of the weather forecast called.

reception

Radio OP can be received in parts of the Oberpullendorf district (according to its own statement, this corresponds to central Burgenland with the exception of the southern part) on the FM 98.8 MHz frequency with 200 watts ERP from the Mobilkom mast in Oberpullendorf.

A live stream is offered on the broadcaster's website. The broadcaster does not provide any information about program distribution in the local cable networks.
