" In addition to Northwestern Switzerland , the station could also be received in southern Baden and Upper Alsace as well as worldwide on the Internet via webstream .

The station from Liestal started its program under the new name Radio Basel 1 on August 25, 2003 at 6 a.m. in the presence of FCB master trainer Christian Gross . The station is a direct successor to the (upper) Baselbieter radio Radio Raurach , which went on the air on November 1, 1983 (the beginning of the private radio scene in Switzerland) , which was then produced in Sissach and existed until 1995 and was transferred to Radio Edelweiss . A major investor in the new Basel radio was Bernhard Burgener from Highlight Communications , who made an outdoor studio possible in Basel's Steinenvorstadt (closed today). In September 2002 the Basler Zeitung Medien (then Basler Mediengruppe ) took over the main share package.
