Durchholzen is a district of the Walchsee municipality in Tyrol and has 533 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

geography

Durchholzen is around 3 km southwest of the municipal capital, Walchsee. The lowest point in the district is Durchholzen (Schmiedtal) with 650 m, the highest is the Vordere Kesselschneid with 2002  m above sea level. A.

In addition to the village of Durchholzen, the hamlet of Seetal, the Rotte Sonnleiten, the Liesfeld settlement and several individual farms and alpine pastures also belong to the village . Street names in the district are Durchholzen, Hochberg, Kaiserweg, Liesfeld, Lindenweg, Moosen and Sonnleiten.

history

Durchholzen was first mentioned in a document around 1141 on the occasion of a transfer of ownership to the Wessobrunn monastery as "Durchholsen" . The Wessobrunn property of “Durchholtz” is also attested in the oldest Bavarian duke surbar from 1231/34 .

tourism

In summer the summer toboggan run and a play park are the tourist attractions of the place, in winter the ski area with lifts on the Zahmer Kaiser .
