Radio Basel

Radio Basel was a private radio station in the Basel region and went on the air on October 24, 2009. Radio Basel has taken over the license and the frequencies of the previously acquired Radio Basel 1 . The broadcast was from a studio in Basel. The station should not be confused with the historic Radio Basel, which was on the air from 1926 to 1972.

Radio Basel was switched off on January 9, 2012 at midnight. A few days later, on January 13th, the successor channel Energy Basel went on air.

Radio Basel's transmission area comprised the two cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft , parts of the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn, and the neighboring area in the Freiburg district of Baden-Württemberg . The station was aimed at an adult audience and broadcast around the clock with eight live streams on the Internet as well as on FM and DAB +. Radio Basel offered an online service and also made its program available via a free application for iPhone and iPad: In addition to all radio programs, podcasts and news, the weather forecast for the next four days and the current parking situation in the state car parks of the City of Basel to find.

The news was broadcast on the hour, the most important headlines on the half hour.
