Radio Santec GmbH is a new religious broadcasting station in Marktheidenfeld- Altfeld. The company is a 100 percent subsidiary of the publishing house Das Wort and disseminates the teachings of the new revelation movement Universelles Leben (Würzburg) of the prophet Gabriele Wittek , who acts as the “medium” . He comes to the public through several radio and television programs. Christine Schulte, Ulrich Seifert, Harald Dohle and the founder of the religious denomination Universelles Leben, Gabriele Wittek, each hold 25 percent of the publisher's share capital . Brigitte Hofer and Matthias Köbler are the managing directors. The station was entered in the Würzburg commercial register in May 1999. Before the start of the television program, the company recorded almost EUR 700,000 in the 2008 financial year; in 2012 it was around EUR 740,000.

The teachings and contents of the publisher's offer and the radio and television programs, which also include Die neue Zeit TV and Sender Neu Jerusalem , are largely the same. The programs include meditative text readings, readings from Wittek's writings, roundtables and music, mostly classical. Programs for children and young people are also offered, as well as reports on the in-house operations of Universal Life and animal programs. The main focus is on anti-church polemics and the belief in rebirth of Gabriele, who is revered as a "prophetess", with a kind of "divine accounting" about good and bad deeds, as well as love for animals.

Earth and man

The television station Earth and Man - Healthy Living was part of Radio Santec until December 2015 and broadcast via the Eutelsat satellite. Erde und Mensch TV GmbH from Italy was legally responsible . On December 1, 2015, broadcasting was finally stopped.

The cosmic wave

Radio Santec broadcasts in several languages, including German. Some programs were last broadcast on three short and medium wave frequencies. However, the stations were switched off at the end of 2010 and the program continued as a pure web radio with a daily 24-hour program. In addition, information is available on the station's website under the series Gabriele-Brief or Der Prophet from the publisher's program, each with the teachings of the leader of universal life, Gabriele Wittek.

Sophia TV

Radio Santec's television station is the second station belonging to Universal Life , after Die neue Zeit TV , that can be received via the Astra satellite. It has been broadcasting a television program via the Astra 1H satellite since January 2010 and intends to feed it into cable networks in the future. With a data rate of just 0.8 Mbit / s, the signal is of poor quality. The channel was licensed in Germany by the State Agency for Media North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM) with a decision of August 18, 2009. Even before the broadcast began, the name was changed to Sophia TV . The name Sophia is interpreted as a "symbol for divine wisdom".

criticism

The Evangelical Church in Michelrieth has been observing for years that when most of the print media were discontinued, a large number of new channels were founded. She sees Universal Life as a "group that is mostly underestimated in its conflict-prone nature". The criticism finds its expression not least in the television programs, which are designed as discussion groups, but actually consist of carefully coordinated and rehearsed dialogues without any visible spontaneous elements or insertions from the "talk guests".

It is noticeable that the media empire of Universal Life has received little public attention so far, despite two TV channels on Astra. There is hardly any reference to Universal Life on the official websites. Programs and content are sometimes incorrectly classified by sporadic viewers or are attributed to Christian churches in forum discussions. The church portal Confessio.de suspects a strategy behind this. For example, at an event organized by the publisher, no reference to universal life became clear to an outside audience. In recent years, the community itself has repeatedly become the subject of public disputes. The name "Universal Life" is apparently no longer a good advertisement, as it arouses negative associations in many people. It is not appropriate to be associated with an organization that is accused of totalitarian structures. It is "about the destruction of an opponent and about your own profile against the churches".
