Radio Triquency is the name of the university radio of the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe , which has been broadcast on three frequencies in the urban areas of Detmold , Lemgo and Höxter since April 22, 2005 .

history

The association “Triquency e. V. “was founded on September 25, 2002, well before the actual broadcasting operations. At the beginning there was an all-day radio broadcast on the open day at the university in Lemgo on the occasion of the 30th anniversary celebration. This was so popular that an association was founded. The initiator was the student group around Bernhard Hensel, supervised by Jochem Berlemann, supported by the university management. Bernhard Hensel became the first chairman of the association. First, the planning phase began, which included questions about the type of radio, target group, distribution, etc. During the long waiting time until the three transmission frequencies 96.1 MHz in Lemgo, 95.9 MHz in Detmold and 99.4 MHz in Höxter were issued, community radio broadcasts were produced and broadcast via another radio station in the Lippe region. When the permits were in place, broadcasting began on April 22, 2005.

In 2007 a two-year birthday party was celebrated together with the student council of the “Production and Economics” department. Radio Triquency invited the band Team Blender from Berlin. During the celebration there was live moderation and the band was also broadcast live on the radio.

In January 2008 the first public radio concert took place in the Kesselhaus Lemgo. The band Anajo , known from the Bundesvision Song Contest, was invited. Rock music was made on January 31, 2008 with about 70 people in attendance.

On May 15, 2008 another radio concert took place in the Kesselhaus in Lemgo. On the occasion of the radio's third birthday, three bands played that evening. The best known is the Carpathian dog from Cologne. In addition, youth groups from Detmold (“Geradeso!”, German-speaking pop-pop-rock indie) and Berlin (“Sternbuschweg”, indie) were enthusiastically received.

Since October 2008 Frank Lechtenberg has been editor-in-chief (media production department, Technical University Ostwestfalen-Lippe) of the campus radio and member of the board of the association.

In January 2018, the Triquency campus radio launched the three-day “Kneipenklang” series of events in Lemgo. Here the Triquency team organized two concerts (Blassfuchs, Bender & Schillinger) as well as a DJ evening in pubs (spark plug, coffee kitchen) and a dance school in Lemgo.

program

Radio Triquency is radio made by students for students. The broadcast content is aimed primarily at students at the universities in Lemgo, Detmold and Höxter. The radio should also be used to present university life to the outside world. The broadcast studio is located in Lemgo and includes a small editorial office and the studio itself.

It is broadcast 24 hours a day via the frequencies 96.1 MHz in Lemgo, 95.5 MHz in Detmold and 99.4 MHz in Höxter, as well as via the live stream. World news is broadcast by Deutschlandfunk , as is the “Campus & Karriere” magazine (2:30 pm to 3:00 pm).

The music color on Radio Triquency is to be titled Indie-Rock / -Pop. Every hour there is a "classic", for example by David Bowie or Depeche Mode. The “lounge”, which plays funk, world music, neo-soul and the like, runs from 6 to 9 p.m. From 9 p.m. "party music" (such as hip-hop, electro and dance) will play.

Every Thursday at 7 p.m. the program “Timewarp” runs, where the moderators bring each other music and guess which year the songs come from. In doing so, they try to make as precise a statement as possible based on the musical characteristics of the song. The episodes are also available in the NRWision media library and have been voted “Tip of the Week” several times.

The “Gin und Techno” program, which lasts several hours, runs irregularly and includes gin tastings and recipes for techno from the record.

Every year before Christmas and repeated on Christmas Eve, editor-in-chief Frank Lechtenberg and music editor Jenny Karpe moderate the “Vinyladvent”, where the best records of the year meet well-known classics in a two-hour broadcast. Both moderators each have a record player in front of them.

Surname

The word “triquency” is made up of the word “tri” (German: three) and the English word “frequency” (German “frequency”). The name is intended to symbolize the three broadcasting and university locations in Detmold, Höxter and Lemgo.

In the RDS , the station name is written without "u" because there are only eight characters available in one line. RDS is currently only available on the frequencies 96.1 MHz (Lemgo) and 95.9 MHz (Höxter).
