The Radko-Stöckl-Schule (short: RSS ) is a vocational school in the Schwalm-Eder district in Melsungen . Head of Studies Bernd Richter is the headmaster of the RSS. The school is a member of the Melsungen School Association .

history

The first lessons at the craft school, approved in 1830, took place in 1837 with around 100 students. The crafts school at that time continued to develop into a larger educational institution in what was then the Melsungen district . A commercial training school was established in 1910. The Melsungen District Vocational School was created in 1937 by merging smaller vocational schools with the Melsungen craft school. In 1945, after the end of the Second World War, lessons could only be given in one barracks. In the course of the year it was possible to move to the rooms of what was then the secondary school, but there was a lack of space. In 1971 the decision was made to build the current building. In the same year, the newly built vocational school center, as it was called at the time, moved there. Shortly after Radko Stöckl's death, the decision was made to rename the vocational school center the Radko Stöckl School. Stöckl was the head of the school for many years, and it was in recognition of his services to the school. In 2002 it was possible to move into an extension to the existing school building.

In addition to school-based training for various occupations, the RSS offers, among other things, a visit to a technical college . The higher commercial school and the vocational school can also be attended.
