Radko Stoeckl

Radko Stöckl (born October 6, 1924 in Schemnitz , Czechoslovakia , † January 23, 1984 in Melsungen ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending secondary schools in Martin and Reichmann and graduating from high school in Prague in 1942 , Stöckl took part in the Second World War as a soldier . He was most recently taken prisoner by the British, from which he was released in 1945.

After the end of the war, Stöckl moved to West Germany as a displaced person and settled in Calden . He initially completed apprenticeships as a baker, butcher and miller, each of which he completed with the journeyman's exams. He then took up a degree in professional education in Frankfurt am Main , which ended with the first state examination in 1951 and the second in 1952.

Stöckl had held a position as a senior commercial teacher at the district vocational and vocational school in Hofgeismar from 1952 and was director of the vocational school center of the Melsungen district from 1963 to 1970 . In 1965 he was appointed senior director of studies .

Political party

Stöckl joined the SPD, was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Hessen and acted as treasurer of the state association.

MP

Stöckl was a council member of the city of Melsungen and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. He belonged to the district council of the Melsungen district and was also chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. From 1970 until his death he was a member of the Hessian state parliament . From 1978 until his death he was Vice President of the State Parliament.

Honors

In 1976 Stöckl received the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany and in 1983 the Cross of Merit 1st Class . The vocational school of the Schwalm-Eder district in Melsungen, which Stöckl headed from 1963 to 1970, was renamed the Radko-Stöckl school shortly after his death .
