Radu cel Frumos , in German: Radu der Schöne , (* around 1437/1439; † 1475 ) was ruler of Wallachia from 1463 to 1473/74. Radu was the younger half-brother of Vlad III. Drăculea . Both were sons of Vlad II Dracul and had different mothers.

In 1442 Radu was held hostage with his father and his brother Vlad under the Ottoman Sultan Murat II. The father was released in 1443, the older brother Vlad around 1447. Radu, who converted to Islam, remained with the Ottomans of his own free will.

As Vlad III. Fled in 1462 under Turkish pressure, the Turks put Radu on the throne. Radu ruled Wallachia from 1463 to November 1473, after a one-month break again from December 1473 to March 1474, and finally from March to September of 1474.

Radu died in 1475. His daughter Maria Voichița later became the wife of Ștefan cel Mare . His successor as ruler of Wallachia was Basarab Laiotă cel Bătrân .
