Rafael Ansón

Rafael Ansón Oliart (* 1935 in San Sebastian ) is a Spanish entrepreneur, political advisor and current president of the Real Academia de Gastronomía .

Ansón holds a doctorate in law and a degree from the École nationale d'administration .

During his time as General Director of RTVE , from July 24th 1976 to November 17th 1977, there was a financial crisis in the station, which led to investigations against the administration. He then became personal advisor to the then President Adolfo Suárez . In the 1970s he led the election campaigns for Marcelino Oreja Aguirre and was also because of his employee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Various activities in a political context followed.

Ransón is the founder of the Real Academia de Gastronomía and, as Honorary President, a board member of the Académie Internationale de la Gastronomie . The former was founded in 1980 and was given the addition of Real (English: royal ) in 2008 . For the World's 50 Best Restaurants list , he is chairman of the department of professionals who review Spanish and Portuguese restaurants.

He is the brother of the journalist Luis María Ansón . His first marriage was to Blanca Luca de Tena. In July 1978 he married Inmaculada Quintana.
