Rafael Limón (* 1. January 1954 in Mexico City , Distrito Federal , Mexico ) is a former Mexican boxer in the super featherweight and two-time world champion.
Career
Limón began his professional career in 1972. Initially, he suffered a few defeats. On April 15, 1978 he won the vacant North American championship title . The following year he failed while trying to become WBC world champion to Alexis Arguello due to a knockout defeat in the 11th round.
On June 24, 1980 he was again North American champion. In December of the same year, he captured the vacant WBC world champion belt when he defeated Idelfonso Bethelmy. He lost this title in March of the following year against Cornelius Boza-Edwards . However, he fought for this belt again on September 18, 1982 and defended it against Chung-Il Choi .
