Rafael Rodríguez Medina (born December 12, 1956 ) is a former Salvadoran football referee .

Career

Rodríguez Medina was a FIFA referee authorized to direct football matches at international level between at least 1988 and 2000 . At the women's soccer World Cup in 1991 , he led the group matches between Germany and Nigeria (4: 0) and Taiwan against Nigeria (2: 0) as well as the quarter-finals between Norway and Italy (3: 2 a.d.). In addition, the Salvadoran was used as a line judge in two other games . Nine years later, Rodríguez Medina was used as game director twice at the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2000 , the continental championship for North and Central America and the Caribbean, including in the semifinals between Colombia and Peru (2-1).

After the end of his active career as a referee, Rodríguez Medina remained loyal to refereeing and was employed as chairman of the referee committee at the Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol (FESFUT) until his retirement in 2015 .
