Rafikjon Sultonov

Rafikjon Sultonov (born February 19, 1988 ) is an amateur boxer from Uzbekistan . He fights at light flyweight (up to 48 kg).

Career

Rafikjon Sultonov has not yet appeared internationally before the 1st Asian qualifying tournament for the 2008 Olympic Games . At the 2007 World Boxing Championships in Chicago , Uzbekistan was represented in its weight class by Olimjon Nazarov. Since he was eliminated there in the first round, Sultonov was nominated for the tournament. In this qualifying tournament, which was held in Bangkok in February 2008 , he was able to advance to the final, but lost there against the Kazakhs Birschan Schaqypow . With second place in this tournament, he was still able to qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games. In Beijing he met Nordine Oubaali, who was playing for France, in the first round, lost 7: 8 points and was eliminated from the tournament.
