Rage Hard is a pop / rock song by Frankie Goes to Hollywood , the band's fifth single and the first single from Liverpool's second studio album . It was published in advance on August 25, 1986. Musically, the guitars are a bit more dominant than on previous pieces by the band.

background

After the tour to Welcome to the Pleasuredome , the band traveled to the Netherlands to record the next album with Stephen Lipson. Rage Hard was the first single that was released from the album Liverpool , for the first time as a CD and no longer as a music cassette . Its title (on the 7 "single Rage Hard (Rage, Rage) ) was inspired by the poem Do not go gentle into that good night by Welsh writer Dylan Thomas . The song was also on a maxi edition in a 12:08 am Version ( Rage Hard (Slam Bam) ) released with a lecturer introducing "the strange world of the 12-inch".

The original B-side is the composition (Don't Lose What's Left) of Your Little Mind . Holly Johnson and Brian Nash imitated Graf Zahl (English Count von Count, 'Ha ha ha / I am the Count') from the children's program Sesame Street , accompanied by burps and similar noises. Other single or maxi versions included Suffragette City by David Bowie (1972), appropriately renamed SuffRAGEtte City for promotional purposes . A cover of Roadhouse Blues by The Doors was also used.

reception

Rage Hard reached number four in the British single charts as well as the top position in Germany , number five in Switzerland, number seven in the Netherlands, number twelve in Austria , number 19 in Sweden and number 32 in France . In the German annual charts in 1986 , the song reached number nine.
