Rahul Bose (born July 27, 1967 in Kolkata ) is an Indian film actor, writer and director.

Live and act

Rahul is the son of Rupen and Kumud Bose. His older sister Anuradha is with Tarique Ansari, the owner of Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd. , a diverse media company in Mumbai . After growing up in Kolkata, the family moved to Mumbai. There he showed himself to the audience for the first time at the performance of Tom, The Piper's Son . He was just six years old.

His mother taught him boxing and his passion for rugby . He still plays in international tournaments for the Orange India National Rugby Team . During his time in college, besides boxing and rugby, he was passionate about theater.

After his film debut in English in August , he gave up his well-paid position as an advertising specialist with "Rediffusion" and started his film acting career.

Rahul Bose is also known for his social commitment and for his conviction that, for example, he will never play the same film again or make a purely commercial film. It is far removed from the conventional Bollywood cinema and prefers arthouse productions.

In May 2005, a retrospective of his work took place in Geneva . Kofi Annan praised his film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (Director: Aparna Sen ).
