The river Raia ( Portuguese Ribeira da Raia ) is an approx. 95 km long headwaters of the Sorraia , a left tributary of the Tejo ; the other source river is the Ribeira do Sor . The headwaters are in Monforte , in the Alto Alentejo sub-region . Shortly before the confluence with the Sorraia above the municipality of Couço, the Sor flows through the reservoir of the Barragem do Maranhão dam .
