Raiffeisenbank Hochfranken West eG was created through the merger of Raiffeisenbank Frankenwald Ost - Oberkotzau eG with Raiffeisenbank Sparneck-Stammbach-Zell eG in 2011. The forerunners of the two banks were smaller regional cooperative banks and loan associations, the oldest of which was founded in 1891. Over the decades, today's credit institute in the Franconian Forest and Fichtelgebirge regions developed from small loan association associations .
