Career

Friedl started playing soccer in his early childhood. His first club was FC Salzburg , for whom he played in the youth team until 1996. Then he moved to his local club ASV Taxham , where his father was the coach of the U-9. In 2002 he came to SV Austria Salzburg . There he played mainly in the BNZ teams and stayed in the club after taking over Red Bull. As a U-19 BNZ player, he often trained with the second team. In July 2007 he signed his first professional contract with Red Bull Juniors Salzburg . He made his debut in the first division on September 21, 2007 against FC Kärnten on the starting line-up and was sent off with a red card after 22 minutes . After two years with the Juniors in Salzburg, his contract was not extended.

For the 2009/10 season he went to USK Anif . There he and the team just missed the race for the play-off games in the first division twice . In summer 2012 he followed his coach Thomas Hofer to SV Austria Salzburg . With Salzburg Austria he missed promotion to the first division twice. After a protracted muscle injury that he sustained in the winter of 2013 and that put him out of action for around a year, his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2014. The TSV Neumarkt him undertook a few weeks later.
