Rainer Berger (born September 23, 1944 in Benneckenstein ) is a former German sprinter who competed for the GDR .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , he reached the semi-finals in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the all-German team . In 1966 he was fourth in the 4 x 100 meter relay with the GDR team at the European Athletics Championships in Budapest . With SC Leipzig , he was GDR champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967 . He set his personal best over 100 m of 10.4 s in 1964.
