Rainer Deppe

Rainer Deppe (born May 2, 1956 in Cologne ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia since 2005 .

Life

Deppe has been a member of the CDU since 1973 and was chairman of the RCDS school initiative in Essen from 1973 to 1974 . From 1974, after completing his Abitur , he was chairman of the RCDS in Cologne for a year until he became chairman of the Junge Union in Bergisch Gladbach for another year until 1976 . From 1975 to 1982 he was deputy district chairman of the Junge Union Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and at the same time, from 1976, continued his law studies at the University of Cologne , which was interrupted for one year for military service , which resulted in the office of regional chairman of North Rhine-Westphalia for four years of the RCDS and his time as a city council member in Bergisch Gladbach. From 1982 he did an apprenticeship as a farmer and in 1986 graduated from the higher agricultural school in Siegburg as a state-certified farmer. He worked in this profession until 2004.

From 1991 he was CDU district manager in the Rheinisch-Bergisch district for ten years , where he has been a member of the district executive since 2001. In addition, from 2004 to 2007 he was chairman of the CDU city association Overath and from 2005 to 2008 chairman of the KPV of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis. Since June 8, 2005 he has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the state electoral district of Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis II . Since June 2007 he has been the district chairman of the CDU Rhein-Berg.

In the state parliament he is a member of the committee for the environment, agriculture, nature and consumer protection, as well as the committee for digitization and innovation. He has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since July 2017.

Deppe is married and has four children.
