Rainer Maedge

Rainer Maedge (born February 17, 1944 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and ice hockey official .

education and profession

After completing secondary school with secondary school leaving certificate, Rainer Maedge attended administrative school. After taking the final exam for the senior civil service, he worked from 1968 to 1974 as a consultant for urban development, housing and transport in the planning group of the City Director of Cologne. From 1974 he was a speaker, later the main speaker at the Association of Municipal Enterprises in Cologne. In the meantime from 1979 to 1981 he was regional manager of the SPD North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1987 he became co-managing director of Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH Münster. From 1997 to 2013 he worked for the Wintershall Group as "Head of Public Relations". Since then he has worked as a freelance communications and policy advisor.

politics

Rainer Maedge has been a member of the SPD since 1965. From 1971 to 1973 he was chairman of the local SPD association in Cologne-Brück and from 1973 to 1978 deputy chairman of the Working Group for Employee Issues (AfA) in the SPD in the Cologne sub-district. From 1977 to 1979 he was the deputy chairman of the AfA in North Rhine-Westphalia. He was deputy chairman of the SPD district Mittelrhein from 1978 to 1979. In 1981 he became chairman of the sub-district executive committee of the Cologne SPD and in 1978 a member of the state executive committee of the SPD NRW. Maedge has been a member of the Public Services, Transportation and Traffic Union since 1969.

Rainer Maedge was a directly elected member of the 8th , 9th and 10th state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 28, 1975 , from which he resigned prematurely on June 29, 1987. He represented constituency 019 Cologne-Stadt VI and constituency 019 Cologne VII in the state parliament.

Rainer Maedge is President of the KEC “Die Haie” eV, the parent club of the DEL Club Kölner Haie .

He was Vice President of the North Rhine-Westphalia Ice Hockey Association, which was founded in 2015, and has been its President since 2018.
