Rainer Negrelli (* 1943 in Metz in Lorraine ) is a contemporary German artist.

Life and career

Rainer Negrelli was born in Metz , Lorraine in 1943 . From 1964 to 1966 he trained in stage design and free graphics at the Werkkunstschule Mannheim. In 1966 he began studying painting at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin , which later became the Berlin University of the Arts . From 1968 to 1970 he studied painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts , Karlsruhe.

In 1965 he received the award for graphics of the city of Ludwigshafen . In 1970 he was awarded the prize for socially critical graphics from the Heinrich-Zille-Gesellschaft Berlin and received a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation . In 2002 he received the prize at the Frechen Triennial of Printmaking .

For many years Nigrelli was a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim. Today he lives as a freelance artist and leads workshops for drawing, painting and lithography .
