Rainer Oster

Rainer Oster (born January 19, 1966 in Völklingen / Saar) is a German organist , harpsichordist and ensemble leader.

Rainer Oster studied at the Saar University of Music  in Saarbrücken and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart ( Jon Laukvik soloist class ). In 1992 he was the winner of the Johann Pachelbel Prize at the International Organ Week in Nuremberg . In 1993 he received the Bach Prize of the state capital Wiesbaden . His concert activities as an organist have taken him to numerous European countries and Japan. In 2002 he founded the Ensemble Parlando, which plays on historical instruments, and in 2009 the vocal consort Parlando. Since 2010 he has been a lecturer for organ at the Saar University of Music in Saarbrücken.
