Rainer Schmidt (born March 28, 1947 in Hamburg ) is a German GAL politician and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

The student of social education Rainer Schmidt moved on January 7, 1985 for the green alternative list in the Hamburg citizenship. As a so-called successor, he replaced party friend Ulla Jelpke , who - following a GAL decision on the so-called rotation procedure - had to leave the after-work parliament after half an electoral term .
