Rainie Yang
Rainie Yang ( Chinese 楊丞琳 / 杨丞琳 , Pinyin Yáng Chénglín ; born June 4, 1984 in Taipei ) is a Taiwanese singer , actress and talk show host.
Career
Rainie was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1984 and has actually been a star since childhood. She started doing gymnastics, dancing and singing in her early years. At the age of 14, she started appearing in several Hong Kong commercials and smaller films . However, these small roles did not bring her the success she had hoped for. A year later she took part in a casting for BMG, where she finally made it into a 4-piece girl band . After she did it, she said that she was unspeakably lucky. The girl band was called 4 in Love , she got her nickname Rainie in the band because her three colleagues got the names Cloudie, Windie and Sunnie, that is rainy, windy, sunny and cloudy.
After completing the casting, the four musicians returned to Taiwan, where they lived in a shared apartment for 1 year. In addition, Rainie began to act in several films and dramas, and eventually got a role in the hit drama Meteor Garden. Her role as Xiao You was small, but it was enough to give her career that decisive boost, and she soon starred in many dramas and films and became the young leading lady.
After three years in the girl band, 4 in Love split in 2002. Cloudie, Windie and Sunnie decided to pursue a solo career and went in different directions. Rainie decided to record his own talk show in Taiwan. In 2005 she took the initiative as an established talk show host and solo artist and actress and released her first solo album My Intuition . In 2006, her second album, Meeting Love, followed. With her second album she achieved the status of one of the most successful young stars in China.
In 2013 she was in Berlin for a photoshoot for the album Angel Wings.
criticism
In 2003, Rainie Yang confused the duration of the eight-year Second Sino-Japanese War . She said on a television broadcast that this war lasted eleven years. Your comment about the error: "Only eight years?" Caused outrage in the People's Republic of China and almost led to "Devil Beside You" not being broadcast there. After a while they replaced this program with "Green Forest, My Home".
Private life
On July 11, 2019, she announced her engagement to Chinese singer Li Ronghao, with whom she has been together for 4 years.
