Raisa Nikolaevna Kochanova

Raisa Nikolaevna Kochanowa ( Russian Раиса Николаевна Коханова * December 15 . Jul / 28. December  1906 greg. In St. Petersburg , † 1992 ) was a Soviet architect .

Life

Kochanowas father was the military engineer Nikolai Ivanovich Kochanow (1875-1931). She studied at the from the Imperial Academy of Arts incurred Leningrad Higher Institute of Arts and Technology (LWChTI). In 1929 she married Alexander Ivanovich Kikin (1899–1976). In 1930 she completed her studies at the LWChTI as an engineer- architect.

Kochanowa specialized in the planning of electrical substations for trams in Leningrad . Their constructivist style renounced all traditional forms. Some researchers name her as the author of the projects for the substation No. 11 Komsomolskaya on the Fontanka (built 1931-1932) and the substation No. 12 Lesnowskaya on Engels Prospect (built 1931-1933), although she is still developing the projects Was a student. The substations No. 13 Grebezkaja on Pionirskaya Ulitsa (built 1933–1934) and No. 15 Klinskaja on Moshaiskaya Ulitsa (built 1933–1934) are also assigned to her.

In the German-Soviet war during the Leningrad blockade , Kochanova was concerned with protecting the city's architectural monuments from bombing, for which she received the medal “For the defense of Leningrad” . After the war, she took part in the restoration of the city's buildings.
