Raita is an Indian dish or side dish based on yogurt. In contrast to related European starters such as the Greek Tsatsiki , the Turkish Cacık or the Bulgarian Tarator , Raita is based on a more flexible ingredient composition. Cucumbers or garlic are often used in the Raita , but also tomatoes , carrots , mild and hot peppers , onions , sometimes pickled vegetables and spices such as cumin or turmeric in various proportions.

use

Raita is traditionally served as an accompaniment to various other Indian dishes such as curry , dal , sweet and savory and sour pickled vegetables or Indian bread. It can be combined in many ways with other dishes to suit your personal taste.
