Raitigericht

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Raitigericht was a Thurgau lower court on the Seerücken until 1798 and part of the Eggen bailiwick , which emerged from the Konstanzer Bischofshöri .

The Raitigericht was first mentioned in 1447 as Raitin vogty . In 1447 Hans von Klingenberg sold the Raitigericht for 1155 guilders to Constance and handed the administration over to the municipal Raitiamt, which had been responsible for poor relief since the 13th century. It included the villages and farms Ellighausen , Geboltshausen , Neuwilen , Ober- and Unterbächi , Ober- and Untertöcken , Schwaderloh and four houses in Engelswilen .

According to the opening in 1490, the master of the Seelhaus near St. Jost presided over the Raiti court, while the Thurgau governor judged the appellations . Until 1798 the Raitipfleger, who administered the Raitiamt of the city of Constance, were the governors of the Raiti court.
