Bailiwick of Eggen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Eggen Bailiwick was first mentioned in 1192 and emerged from the Konstanzer Bischofshöri . The bailiwick included the area that lies between the monasteries Kreuzlingen and Münsterlingen and the villages Illighausen , Graltshausen , Ellighausen and Egelshofen . In 1447 the so-called Raiti court was separated and placed under the Alms Office of Constance. Until eight years before the dissolution of the empire in 1798, the Bailiwick of Constance was administered, which held the lower jurisdiction over the area and its villages.
