history
The first mention was made in 1176 as Illinois Chusen. The village of Illighausen was originally in the Konstanzer Bischofshöri and was under the Eggen bailiwick from the Middle Ages until 1798 .
When it was allocated to the parish of Münsterlingen in 1312/13 , Illighausen already had a church. With the Reformation , the congregation converted to the new faith and became its own parish. In the 16th century the village still joined the Reformed Altnau church as a branch . Since 1942 Illighausen has been connected to Oberhofen to form a reformed parish .
In the 19th century agriculture was replaced by cattle and dairy farming. In 1864/65 a cheese dairy was built. Around 1900 embroidery brought new earning opportunities. No industries have settled in Illighausen, which is off the beaten track.
coat of arms
