history

Parish before the merger in 1998

Before 1798, Dünnershaus was in the so-called High Courts , in which the federal bailiff in Thurgau held both high and low courts . Ecclesiastically, Dünnershaus, Rutishausen and Oberleuenhus belonged to Güttingen , the other hamlets to Langrickenbach.

After the Reformation in 1529, the few Catholics (4% in 1870) were cared for from Güttingen and Altnau .

1654 was Dünnershaus to field and forest the right areas . From 1720 on, Dünnershaus, Rutishausen and Oberleuenhus formed the community of Dünnershaus (en). In 1812 this so-called community "on the farms" was merged with Eggethof, Bärshof and Schönenbohl to form the local community of Dünnershaus, which belonged to the municipal community of Langrickenbach until it was abolished at the end of 1997.

The most important branch of business is still agriculture (fruit growing), in the 19th and early 20th centuries the home industry (weaving, embroidery) also provided an additional income.
